Boyd wants top of Killarney podium

Cape Junior karter Sebastian Boyd heads to Killarney for the second round of the WP under-15 Junior Max championship keen to move his Boyd Boss freight Kosmic a step up to the top of the podium Saturday 11 March.

“I had a good run in the opening races, but I lacked a tiny bit of pace and then the chain came off in the final heat and I was forced to retire, so I was lucky to end up second for the day,” the Camps Bay lad explained. “We have worked hard since the last race though, so I’m confident that we can close down the championship gap to Jason Coetzee and I’m looking forward to a few good dices with him.

“I also need to watch my back though — there are a few old rivals and some new kids on the block looking to topple us up front, but I need to keep that out of mind and concentrate on that top step. “We also have the first national in Vereeniging two weeks after the Cape race, so it would be good to go up there off a positive result.

“Killarney should be a great weekend - I can’t wait to race!”
