Good pace, bad luck for Duminy
Daniel Duminy was satisfied with a positive day en main at the kart track in spite of being unable to fully shake his recent run of foul luck at iDube’s third round SA Senior Max Karting Championship over the weekend. The Ballito lad ended third in the first race and similarly diced home to fourth in the final, but his day was hampered when an electronic failure stopped his SMD FA Kart while lying third in the second race.
“It was a pretty tough day at the track, but I’m quite happy to have bounced back with a bang,” Daniel reflected. All the training and the effort over the last weeks has paid off even if the day never quite went to plan — every driver wants to win, but we can’t do that all the time although I was pretty chuffed with my pace and performance this weekend.
“I want to say a big thank you to Bjorn and Etienne Roos, Arnold Neveling and a huge word of thanks to Ricky Perdigao - without these people I would not be where I am today. Also well done to Luke Herring on a deserved win — he was a machine at iDube!” Daniel now heads to Port Elizabeth for Engen Volkswagen Cup duty Saturday 15 July.
