Two regional titles within Mokoena’s reach

Recently crowned South African primary school Mini Rok karting champion Kwanda Mokoena can’t wait to get back into local action at Zwartkops’ penultimate Northern Regions Karting races, where not only is he itching to deliver on his World Final experience in Italy two weeks ago, but he’s also involved in an intriguing 3-way Gauteng Mini Rok title battle. Mokoena sits third in a tight tussle with pals Jarrod Waberski leading and fllow SA Maxterino champion Leyton Fourie in second.

“I had an incredible weekend in Italy at the Mini Rok International Finals last weekend and I can’t wait to use some of that experience to my advantage at Zwartkops next weekend,” Kwanda grinned. Jarrod, Leyton and me have had a great battle in the Northern Regions races this year so it should be a good, clean fight, but there are also a few other guys to keep an eye on, but I can’t wait to race!”

Kwanda will be on double duty this weekend as he also races in the high school age Junior Max, where he’s tied in to an equally tight title spat in fourth place and well within striking distance of stealing a surprise title. “Junior Max is also going to be very interesting over the last two meetings - there are five or six of us fighting hard there too and I’m owed a bit of good luck on the big kart so I hope it comes our way soon so I can win again like we did two meetings back. “Let’s race!”
