Keegan, Jason ready for Zwartkops

Campos brothers Keegan and Jason are quietly confident as the Falken Polo Cup returns to home territory for Zwartkops Raceway’s 27 July race meeting, with Keegan looking to improve on his sixth and Jason keen to move up from seventh in the championship chase.

Keegan has enjoyed a reasonably good last few races following a slow start aboard his Campos Transport Polo and he’s looking to increase that forward momentum. “This season is coming to me, albeit a bit too slowly so far, so the plan is to ramp that progress up at our home track this weekend,” Keegan promised.

“That's easier said than done — Zwartkops is notorious for tough racing, but we need to box clever and best use our hometown advantage and I'm pretty confident in the car and hoping for a clean race. Testing with Tasmin and Ian Pepper’s input has been good, so I’ll be aiming for that top six shootout and a good weekend from there."

Jason’s season started brilliantly but he has struggled since a disastrous Cape Town weekend followed by tough Port Elizabeth outing in his Turn 1 Insurance Polo. “I need to return to my early season form,” Jason admitted. “So I must qualify in the top six and stay there all weekend.

"If you fall in to that mad bunch, it’s basically your race run and Falken Polo Cup being as competitive as ever with fifteen really hot drivers up front, it’s easier said than done. "Still, that has to be my objective and while I am nervous for Saturday, I'm quite optimistic - my new car still a tenth or two off but Zwartkops is the great equaliser so let’s see - it should be fun - let’s race!"
