Cape Town racer Umpie Swart not only heads to East London fully intent to make amends for a tough Falken Polo Cup weekend at Zwartkops last time out, but the young gun plans to celebrate his new sponsors in style at this weekend’s races at the Grand Prix Circuit.

“I am delighted to welcome G-Energy Lubricants aboard — I will race my Polo in G-Energy colours from this weekend in East London,” Umpie, who took his maiden Polo Cup win at Killarney earlier in the season, admitted. “It is a huge honour to have an international brand like G-Energy and Oily SA behind me and we plan to do them proud, starting this weekend."

“We had a tough last race at Zwartkops and that is something nobody can afford in this class, so the plan is to bounce back — the plan is to repeat what we did in the first heat in Cape Town. “I love the East London Grand Prix Circuit and we had a great outing last time I raced here in Polo Cup, Gozzi and the lads at GAP have prepared me a cracking Polo and we are ready to race — I cannot wait to fly this new flag high!”
