Season finale, exams keep Napier busy
Tiffany Napier heads to the final Northern Regions Junior Max karting event of the season at Vereeniging’s Laserfiche Raceway this Saturday 18 November with mixed feelings and emotions. On the one hand the Roodepoort lass who goes to school at the British International School in Bryanston is on a high, having closely followed the SA competitors at the Rotax Max finals in Portugal with the aspiration to be able to do the same one day soon.
“I was also fortunate enough to have been at the World Rallycross at Killarney over the weekend and I was inspired by rubbing shoulders with some of the top names in world motorsport,” Tiffany explained. “But on the other hand I am also quite busy studying for year-end exams in between preparations for the final, so it’s been a bit of a balancing act and I have not been able to get as much track time as I'd have liked.
“Still I am aiming for the best possible result this weekend to end the season off on a high and a long overdue win to go with my recent quickest laps and pole positions. “That will go a long way to making up for a season dogged by bad luck and poor overall results even though I have often shown front-running pace — as they say, you are only as good as your last race, and a good result would set us up very nicely for the new season!
Tiffany has meanwhile been selected as the top Junior Max driver in the Official BirelArt South Africa team for 2018 and she will thus be doubly eager to prove her worth at the Vaal this weekend.
