Coetzee can’t wait for Killarney Saturday
Jason Coetzee cannot wait for Saturday 10 November’s Western Province Karting Finals. Not only is the Durbanville youngster leading the Senior Max title race and also sitting in a strong second in the DD2 race, but he is really looking forward to racing on the newly resurfaced Killarney Kart track for the first time.
“Of course both championships are vital,” Jason admitted. “But I am kinda more looking forward to racing on the newly resurfaced Killarney Kart track this weekend. “It looks brilliant and we were allowed to play on the new surface with hire karts over the weekend — it’s so smooth — like a completely new track out there, which is so good for Cape karting.
“Getting down to business, we are looking pretty good in Senior Max — I have a handy 20 point championship lead there with my SAKRA Kosmic, so I will have to keep an eye on Andrew Rackstraw while turning in consistent quick laps. “I’m second in DD2 and have a mathematical chance to catch my teammate Umpie Swart in the gearbox class, but I’ll be happy with an EMR Extreme Team 1-2 alongside the Senior title.
“That's what we will be chasing and we’ll be doing it for the team and everyone who supports us this weekend — bring it on!”
