Pepper keen to wrap W Series up in style
South Africa’s Tasmin Pepper heads to the inaugural W Series finale at Brands Hatch in England looking to end her season with a strong points-paying finish as motorsport’s first-ever women’s world championship comes to a head Saturday 10 August. Pepper has scored strong points paying results in four of the five races so far this season and sits ninth in the title chase and she is keen to finish on a high too.
“It’s been an incredible year I will never forget,” Tasmin explained. “It has also been a huge honour and privilege to race in the first ever W Series and now I’m looking forward to the final race of the championship at Brands Hatch. It's a crucial one for me in the title chase — I am just one point behind in ninth position and would really be happy to take back that eighth place - I was there for most of the year and that position up also makes quite a difference in prize money.
“I am still in with a mathematical chance to finish far further up too, but all I want to do is deliver the best possible results in the final and then look forward to next season — so far I’m in line to qualify automatically being in the top twelve this season, so I suppose that’s the main objective, let’s see where we end up.
“Also a huge thank you to my engineer Gary and mechanic Thomas for all the effort — let’s wrap this up in style guys!” The Brands Hatch finale starts with two free practice sessions at 11am and 16h40 Saturday with qualifying and 11h30 Sunday morning and the race at 16h10.
