SA motocross star Ryan, team shine in Blighty

South African Motocross legend Ryan Hunt and his Isle of Man Manx team overcome the worst possible English weather to star en route to fifth overall in the Nations Cup in the annual VMXdN Veteran Motocross des Nations event over the weekend.

Hunt was drafted into the Manx team for the weekend, and he and his teammates had to sit out the rain when Saturday’s running was cancelled. But the Max Five starred in spite of treacherous muddy and slippery conditions on the Foxhill track on Sunday.

“We are delighted with fifth overall in Veteran Motocross des Nations 2024,” Ryan smiled. “My teammates starred, and the five of us, Josh Spinks, Daniel McCanney, Gary Kirby, Jamie McCanney and me, did what we had to in spite of all the drama of the rain on Saturday, and the muddy conditions Sunday.

What a great event, we all had so much fun and it really was a blast from the past. And I'd say that's a great result! Huge thanks also to Nick Pritchett Racing for my incredible year 2000 Tork Craft Yamaha YZ 250 two-stroke, to the Isle of Man Manx team and Gary for putting it all together. It was an honour and a privilege to ride for this team!”

The  Foxhill Veteran Motocross des Nations saw fifteen teams from around the world represented by international motocross legends of the 1990s and 2000s riding period machinery on a tough and demanding  track. Just as it was when they raced in the Motorcross des Nations back in the day.
