TreasuryONE racing ready for a test of strength

TreasuryONE Motorsport returns to the Off Road North Cross Country Championship fray on something of a voyage of discovery at the Vryburg 300 in the Northwest Province on Saturday 7 June. Driver Hennie de Klerk was injured in a race accident late last year, but he’s now recovered and ready to race, the TreasuryONE Hilux is fresh off a complete rebuild and new navigator Carl Swanepoel simply cannot wait for the big day.

“The plan is to race the Off Road North series this year and to see if my hand holds up after the big accident last year,” triple Dakar veteran and 2018 Dakar Rookie winner Hennie explains. “Although I'm cleared to race medically, I’ve not raced since last year, so I need to find my feet again and get some confidence back in myself, the TreasuryONE Hilux and my new navigator Carl.”

Navigator Swanepoel is likewise raring to go. Former dirtbike racer Carl has sixteen years of cross country racing experience on two wheels and in the car hot seat. “I must thank Hennie for this great opportunity to read his notes in the TreasuryONE Hilux,” Swanepoel admits. “I cannot wait to get into the car in anger, and knowing Hennie’s speed, to win a few races too!”

“I’d like to thank my entire TreasuryONE Racing team for their hard work and dedication in the background to rebuild and get the Hilux ready for our return,” Hennie de Klerk concludes. “It’s been a trying time since the accident, but we’ve taken time to reflect and regroup, and now we are back. We can’t wait for the weekend!”
