Nothing between Alibhai and Bezuidenhout heading to Gqeberha
It’s the middle of most things for Investchem MSA4 racing as it heads to the fourth round National Extreme Festival races at Gqeberha’s Aldo Scribante race track on Saturday 27 June. Those include the middle of winter, the middle of the racing season and the middle of the year. So while fans can expect a winter chill, they can be assured of red hot wings and slicks single seater racing in Nelson Mandela Bay.
Best of all, there’s virtually nothing to split Johannesburg lads, former British Formula 4 racer Aqil Alibha in his Kokoro MSA4, and young challenger and 2025 championship runner up by a whisker, Mikel Bezuidenhout’s Corsa Dei Gemelli version. Mikel dominated the season opener at Killarney in March, before Aqil repaid the compliment at Red Star in April. The two then shared the Zwartkops honours last month.
Which leaves Alibhai leading the chase by all of three points with that middle of the season coming up between Saturday’s two Aldo Scribante heats. And there’s no guaranteeing that either of those two will have it their own way, either. Not with the likes of KMFT Morita racer Karabo Malemela’s recent form. Or Durbanite Shrien Naidoo desperate for a little better luck in his luck Production X machine.
Metal Used ATT driver Renzo Ribeiro, rapid FAST rookie Guido Bidoli and Kent Swart are three more drivers to keep a close eye on. Red Dot Vantage lad Liam Polome and Kokoro Reach for a Dream supporter Chase Haskins are keen to make a big impression too. And Racing ladies, Gianna Pascoal’s 76 Legacy WOrr car, Apex Cordset Kokoro lass Anastasia Gerasis and Investchem’s Simphiwe Mohlahlo certainly add intrigue.
Others wanting to score big at Aldo include 76 Legacy WOrr lad Aadam Kajee, Corsa Dei Gemelli rookie Wianko Fourie, Ndzalo Khoza’s Horizon Dynamics MSA4 and newcomer Lulama Ngobeni. The Investchem MSA4s will be joined by a few old school Formula Ford Kents. Watch for the likes of veterans Ian Schofield and Rick Morris and young guns Alex Vos and Nick van Weely among them.
Racing as part of the spectacular National Extreme Festival roadshow, Investchem MSA4 and the Formula Ford Kent promises great action as always in Gqeberha on Saturday 27 June. See you at Aldo Scribante!
