Clinton Seller made a spectacular return to the SunBet ZX10R Masters motorcycle races supported by Tork Craft tools with a grand slam at Aldo Scribante’s fourth round National Extreme Festival on Saturday. But his shadow for the weekend, Damien Purificati struck another nail in the coffin of the 2026 title with a strong run to second in both races.

The writing was on the wall when Seller, back from a prolonged recuperation from corrective surgery, put his King Price ZX10R on a dominant pole position from class A rival, Keith Agliotti’s TNB Ridgeway machine and championship leader and leading class B man Purificati’s Amalgam Welding bike. Trevor Westman led the second row from Class C leader James Barson’s Proproof entry. 

AD van Dalen,  Daryn Upton and Pieter Delport were next up from Byron Rothquel, Dirk Stols, Reginald Seale, and Tyron Piper on row 4. Joao Cruz, Stephen Galgoczy, Johan Le Roux, Renatus van Wyk, Gerhard Very, Alfie Swanepoel, Ian Harwood and Henk Kruger followed as Bradley Zeeman, Nico Zietsman, Abrie Marais, and Robert Ferreira closed off the bumper travelling 24-machine grid.

Nobody saw where Clint Seller went while Damion Purificati was quick to put one over Keith Agliotti with Trevor Westman in chase as they raced to the opening heat flag. It was however significantly harder fought behind them, as James Barson emerged on top of a keen tussle for fifth ahead of AD van Dalen, Henk Kruger, and Daryn Upton. 

Renatus van Niekerk rode a lonely race to ninth from Reginald Seale in tenth, Rothquel, Stols and Le Roux. Behind them it was war as Piper and Cruz fought for fifteenth ahead of Marais, Ferreira, a struggling Delport, Very, Zeeman, Harwood, Swanepoel and Zietsman after Galgoczy retired.

Race 2 looked much the same up front as Seller strode to his comeback double from Purificati, Westman and Agliotti. But it was wild behind them with fighting throughout the pack as van Dalen snatched fifth from Barson, Upton, Kruger, van Niekerk, Delport, le Roux, Rothquel and Seale in 13th.

A just as fraught battle followed between Piper, Very, Cruz, Galgoczy, Stols, Ferreira, Marais, Harwood, Zietsman, Swanepoel and Zeeman for the minor placings. Now all that remains to be seen, is how soon Damian Purificati will wrap up the 2026 title. And how far up the order Clinton Seller can climb in the three remaining rounds, starting at the East London Grand Prix Circuit Extreme Festival, Saturday 15 August.
