Three in a row for Charl Michael at Rotax Nationals

Cape Town race driver Charl Michael Visser trotted to a debut hat trick, his third Rotax DD2 karting National win on the trot at the weekend’s third round at the Zwartkops International Kart Raceway in Pretoria. It was also Charl Michael’s third DD2 win since first racing in the gearbox class earlier in the year.

“We’re enjoying a very good season in the direct drive gearbox Rotax DD2 karting class,” Charl Michael confirms. “We started with a winning weekend at Killarney and followed that up with another overall win at Formula K in Benoni and this weekend we made it a hat trick of wins with another clean sweep at Zwartkops.

“We have also won eight out of the nine heats that we have raced so far this season, which is also a feather in the cap for my Toyota GR Academy KR Kart team. We have four more heats to race at the National Finals back at Zwartkops in August.

“I would like to extend a huge thank you once again to Leeroy Poulter, Postman Pat to my Gazoo Racing South Africa and KR Kart teams and of course to my race engineer Zefrey Africa. And of course, my mum, my dad and brother Kyle and Caite for all the support as ever.”

Multiple National Rotax karting champion, Charl Michael is also a former National Polo Cup champion. He holds both the overall Kyalami and Zwartkops circuit lap records via his endurance racing campaign.
