Habot lubed Polos have won 8 of 11 Cup races in '26

Habot Performance Lubricants has a proud motor racing heritage and 2026 is no different. Several 30th Birthday Astron Energy Polo Cup racers continue to insist on the brand’s superior synthetic lubricants for optimal performance, which has seen to Habot lubricated cars winning eight of eleven Polo Cup races so far this season.

“Motorsport has always been an integral facet of the Habot Performance Lubricants make-up” marketing manager Adam Williamson explains. “There’s no better lab than inside the engine, gearbox, or differential of a race car, especially if that engine is close to standard specification. If Habot can gain an advantage in an environment as tight and competitive as that, just imagine what it can do for your car?

“That’s why we prefer to work with drivers in the likes of the Astron Energy Polo Cup, which celebrates its 30th anniversary of competition this year. The Polo Cup engine and drivetrain is essentially identical to the unit found in a standard Polo GTI, so to be leading that championship once again, is always a feather in our cap.”

While Habot also remains branding sponsor to veteran John Kruger in Polo Masters this season, its involvement spreads across several other Cup entries, including runaway leader Hannes Scheepers. Maiden winner last time out, Bjorn Bertholdt is another driver to race on Habot, while brother Judd is a leading contender in SATC SupaCup.

Shiren Rajpaul is another leading Polo Cup competitor, while Josh Moore not only uses Habot Performance Lubricants in his Polo Cup racer, but also in his championship leading Gauteng ATE VW Challenge Polo 6R. Liam Crystal and father and son Elio and Pierluigi Muzzulini all rely completely on Habot Performance Lubricants for that extra little Polo Cup advantage and significant peace of mind.

“Knowing we can rely on Habot’s leading synthetic Performance Lubricants not only leaves us in the knowledge that we have a performance advantage over most rivals, but we also know that we can 100% rely on it,” Polo Cup race engineer and preparation specialist Deon Holiday concludes. “That’s why every sump, gearbox and differential in the Worx shop is filled with Habot.”
