Kawasaki South Africa returnd to the South African National Cross Country Motorcycle Championship in 2021 following a lengthy sabbatical. Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing and Franchise Co. Torque Craft Racing compete across the various SA National and GXCC Regional Cross Country classes

The reborn Green Team races Kawasaki’s built for cross country KX 250 XC and KX 450 XCs based on its KX motocross machines. Both benefit specific XC tuned electric start engines with MotoGP derived finger follower valve technology and plug-and-play engine mapping for precision tuning via the KX FI Calibration kit.

Five-speed XC models get cross-country gearing for their close-ratio gearbox, a light and direct feel hydraulic clutch and traction control. XC-tuned Showa suspension is cross country ready, as are larger diameter brakes and optimised wheels with enduro-type tyres. The XCs carry over the narrow KX frame with adjustable handlebar and foot peg positions, minimalistic bodywork and add a side stand and skid plates.
