Great pace, but Jordan taken out of final

South African CIK-FIA Karting Academy driver Jordan North enjoyed an excellent weekend at the second round of the series at Le Mans, but the Northcliff youngster was taken out of the final after already coming from the back.

“I had great speed in the dry and wet throughout the whole weekend,” Jordan explained of a challenging meeting run in changeable conditions throughout. “I was very happy to carry that pace through to qualify in tenth overall and then start the final 11th after the heats.

“But the final went badly,” North rued. “First I was hit from behind and shoved off the track in the first corner, which dropped me back to last, but I fought all the way from the back through half the field to 17th, passing several karts every lap. “Sadly, when I pulled alongside to make a move on the guy in 16th, he just turned in to me and ended both of our races.

“That’s racing I suppose, but would like to thank my mom, dad and the whole Ward Racing team — let’s go kick some butt in Finland!”
