One of the Cape’s littlest racers, Luan Mostert is looking forward to returning home to race at Killarney Kart Track in Saturday 2 September’s penultimate seventh round Western Province Cadet karting championship. Mostert, who has just returned wide-eyed from his first away race at Zwartkops’ Cadet Open in Pretoria and he’s raring to get back to racing his regular rivals on a track he knows well.

“Zwartkops was a good weekend, but I struggled a bit with the big hills and learning the track,” Luan explained. “But I learned so much and I cant wait to get back to Killarney this weekend — we are still chasing my first win and we were quick but unlucky last time out so let’s hope the Spring Day races will be kind to me!

“I have a great team behind me — my mom and dad, grandad Franco, my trainer Kito Perdigao and Luke Herring are all in my corner — I am a lucky boy, but I also need to make them proud!”
