De Klerk, Roets & Amarok Head for Felix Coetzerdam 300

TreasuryOne Racing duo Hennie de Klerk and Adriaan Roets will continue their intensive Dakar 2022 preparation at the second round Inland Off Road Championship's Felix Coetzerdam 300 in the Northwest, Saturday 14 May. De Klerk and Roets are champing at the bit to get out and race following a long delay since their last positive run in the SA national Dullstroom 300, but they're also just happy to be racing.

“After the previous TIORC round was postponed and the national Sugarbelt 450 cancelled, heavy rains also flooded large sections of the planned Barberspan 300 route and threatened this weekend too,” Hennie de Klerk confirmed. “Happily however the organisers have found a new venue and a new route for the event, so we will be racing the TreasuryOne Amarok in the Felix Coetzerdam 300 on 14 May.

“We were leading the previous regional when we were forced to retire, but we bounced back with a good result in the last national, so the objective this weekend is to maintain our pace and get to the finish.” 2018 Dakar rookie winner de Klerk is still racing his trusty Coyote V8-powered TreasuryOne Amarok, but the team is looking forward to switching to its new WCT Engineering-built TreasuryOne Hilux, which Hennie and Adriaan will race in Dakar 2023.

“Yes, these are exciting times,” Hennie concluded. “We will soon race our new car for the first time, but for now we will stick with old faithful. “There’s plenty of life in the old girl yet and we look forward to proving that once again at the Felix Coetzerdam 300.”
