Stuart’s French F4 season starts this weekend
South African Investchem Formula 1600 champion Stuart White will return to the FFSA French Formula 4 championship for 2019. Bloemfontein teenager White who enjoyed an excellent rookie season in the French series in 2017 before returning home to win the Investchem series last year, is ecstatic with the announcement ahead of the season opener at Nogaro over the coming 20-22 April Easter weekend.
“I am thrilled to be appointed as a Sauber Motorsport supported driver for 2019,” Stuart confirmed. “It is an amazing opportunity to work with Sauber, where so many great drivers the likes of Kimi Räikkönen and Charles Leclerc, to name a few, started their Formula One careers.
“Now I am really looking forward to the challenges ahead, getting to work and learning as much as I can from one of the best teams in Formula One. “This wonderful opportunity will also take my racing career to the next level in all aspects — I cannot wait for the French Formula 4 Championship to start and I am thankful for the opportunity — I am ready to give it my all!”
“We are happy to support Stuart White,” Sauber Motorsport CEO Frédéric Vasseur confirmed. “Stuart is a promising young driver who will compete in the French Formula 4 Championship this season — he has impressed with his determination and skills and we are delighted to share our motorsport passion and know-how in support of his project.”
White, who has enjoyed a splendid career through karting and single-seaters into endurance racing, will race the 2019 French Formula 4 Championship full time in 2019 with the full collaboration and support of Sauber Motorsport, an opportunity set to provide a great platform for Stuart, both as a driver and a racer among a group of upcoming talents supported by Sauber Motorsport across multiple racing series.
