Team Red brings a pile of gold, silver and bronze home
Several UB Leisure TFC Sleepover Honda Wing Racing with Tork Craft and Dunlop Tyres travelled to Bronkhorstspruit for the seventh round of the GXCC Gauteng Cross Country Motorcycle Championship over the weekend. The Red Rockets never went unnoticed however, as the team returned home with a pile of gold, silver and bronze.
“UB Leisure TFC Sleepover Honda Wing Racing enjoyed a very good day in Bronkhorstspruit on Saturday,” team boss Harry Grobler pointed out. “We had a smaller than usual contingent racing this weekend, so to score a win, a second and a third with several other notable results made for a really good outing.
Two UB Leisure TFC Sleepover riders came home in the top ten. Tyron Beverley rode home a fine sixth overall and third in the OR3 Pro class aboard his Honda CRF 250 RX. But Nathan Westerside was hero of the day with a splendid ninth overall en route to a dominant 125 cc High School class win over teammate Murray Smith. Erik Merry also enjoyed a steady OR1 debut with sixth in class and Gerhard Vorster was sixth in Senior Pro.”
“Well done to all of our incredible team who raced and supported the guys at Bronkhorstspruit, on another great day at the GXCC races,” Harry Grobler concluded. “That was another solid performance, from ace riding to slick pit work and a great effort all-round. It’s been a tough year and there’s just one more race to run in Fochville on 16 November, before we can all take a very well deserved break. Bring it on!”
