Dunlop Racing has even further extended its South African circuit racing involvement into 2025. The all new wings and slicks national MSA4 single seater championship and the V8 SuperCars will join Dunlop’s regular racing categories in a fuller, even more action packed 2025 season.
“We’re delighted to welcome V8 SuperCars and Investchem MSA4 to Dunlop’s jam-packed circuit racing portfolio,” Sumitomo Rubber South Africa Marketing Manager Joanne de Freitas confirmed. “These new formulae now join most of the rest of South Africa’s premier circuit categories racing on Dunlop tyres, all of which also benefit our full ATS Motorsport racing service and back-up.”
The addition of the new Investchem MSA4 wings and slicks single seaters to the Dunlop Racing portfolio means that the entire National Extreme Festival presented by Coca Cola will now compete on Dunlop Tyres. The single seaters join top tier classes, the South African Touring Cars and SATC SupaCup, Astron Energy Polo Cup and Extreme Supercars Driven By Dunlop on all national racedays.
They’re all supported by the Dunlop shod Volkswagen Rookie Cup, and Toyota Gazoo Racing GR 86 Rookies, GR Yaris Media, and GR Corolla Dealer Trophy races. Dunlop of course remains a fundamental aspect of the Northern Regions Extreme Festival, where the ATE Brakes VW Challenge, BMW M Performance Parts Race Series, DOE Formula Vee and Lotus Challenge all compete on Dunlops in that ATS supported roadshow.
Dunlop’s South African Endurance Series and Backdraft V8 Roadster season already commenced over the past weekend, while SuperVee has already raced on Dunlop tyres on their last two rounds of 2024. Dunlop’s Cape season was another to start over the weekend, where the GTI Challenge continues to race on Dunlop and the and Formula SuperCars also switched to Dunlop rubber on Saturday.
The South African National Oval Track and 2.1 Modified Hot Rods will also race exclusively on Dunlop tyres from 2025, while the iLamuna Endurance Series will continue to race on Dunlop road tyres.
“We have an enormous and busy schedule for 2025, but the more we race, the more we learn that what wins on Saturday, sells on Monday,” Joanne de Freitas concludes. “Not only that, but motorsport no doubt improves the Dunlop breed. Let’s go racing!”
