Thirteen Red-Lined built racers ready to tackle Rally Raid National final
It’s another monster weekend for Red-Lined Motorsport as the team heads to the sixth and final round 2025 SA Rally-Raid Championship, the Northam Zondereinde Bushveld 400 on the 21-22 November. With no less than thirteen entries for this weekend’s race, it’s a record for the team for a single event, with seven cars in the T1 Adventure class, five in Ultimate SA T1+ and one in the top Ultimate FIA T1+ class. And this with two championships beckoning!
“It’s another big entry for us as a business which is further testament to our customer centric approach and our promise to make and keep Rally-Raid racing attainable. It’s also a huge tribute to our entire team, for all their dedication and hard work and a splendid nod from our ever-growing customer base!” Red-Lined Motorsport team boss Terence Marsh beamed.
One Red-Lined team desperate for a break is FIA class duo, young gun Jayden Els and Johan Swemmer. Always at the sharp end aboard their factory REVO GT-R, luck however has not been on their side with a series of development issues along the way. A strong result in line with their obvious pace would bring a most welcome silver lining to this season ending event.
The Red-Lined SA Ultimate T1+ class car count has now climbed to five. Philip Botha and Stompie Mynhardt have enjoyed a brilliant run of late in their Penta Motor Group REVO T1+ V8 and arrive with a chance to seal the class championship. Danie Ludick and Denzil Williamson have lacked a little luck of late in their similar Elegant Fuels powered REVO T1+ V8 but will once again be on a charge. And it’s a big weekend for VAPS HCV Rally-Raid Team duo Abri and Iaan Olivier as they step up a class to SA T1+ in their brand-new Red-Lined REVO T1+ V8.
The experienced Dutch pairing of Dave and Tessa Klaassen once again return to South African National Rally-Raid SA T1+ Championship action aboard their DaklaPack RallySport REVO GT-R. All of them however will have rapid Namibian title contenders Marko Himmel and Francois Schoonbee to deal with in their Red-Lined Navara Evo who just require a finish to wrap up the Championship.
No less than seven Red-Lined built race cars will fight it out in the T1 Adventurer class and the VAPS HCV Red-Lined T1 Cup. The ever-quick Sirkel N crews of Gerhard and Rudi Heinlein as well as Nickus Heinlein and Jaco Kriel are T1 class favourites, while Johan de Bruyn and Adriaan Roets have won the VAPS HCV Red-Lined T1 Cup four times this season in their Falken Tyres REVO T1.
Martin van der Vyver and Rikus Hattingh start their second National in their Red-Lined REVO T1, while Peet Victor and Van Zyl Jonck return in their VAPS HCV powered VK50. The sister VAPS HCV VK50 previously raced by the Olivier brothers, is now in rookies Tyler Botha and Kyle Lotter’s hands as they make their national debut.
“As a team we are ready to wrap up the 2025 National Rally Raid season on a high,” Terence concludes. “Thabazimbi can be expected to be as hot, tough and dusty as ever in mid-November, but we are ready for whatever it has to throw at us!”
