Chemical Logistics Racing all set for Touring Cars 2026

Chemical Logistics Racing is locked and loaded with a thrilling five-car team ready to race the 2026 South African Touring Car Championship. Big news is the return of  multiple champion Robert Wolk to lead a 3-car Chemical Logistics Volkswagen Golf GTI attack alongside Julian van der Watt and MSA4 champion KC Ensor-Smith. Andrew Schofield is also back in his familiar BMW, with the driver of the second 128 ti to be confirmed.

“We were beaten fair and square to the South African Touring Car title for the first time in several seasons last year, so it’s a case of vengeance in 2026, I’m afraid,” team principal Ian Schofield grumbled. “To that end we have Robert Wolk back in one of our Volkswagen Golfs alongside Julian van der Watt and KC Ensor-Smith, and Andy back in his BMW with his teammate still to be confirmed.”

Wolk is delighted to be back as part of a strong three-car Investchem Volkswagen Golf GTI team. “I really missed racing last year and I can’t wait to be back in the thick of it!” Robert admits. “I can’t wait to work with Stuart Thompson and the WCT Engineering team again alongside Julian and KC this year. I think we make a formidable team, no matter what the opposition brings.”

South African Touring Car veteran and Killarney home hero, Julian van der Watt is keen to finally write a championship behind his name in the second Investchem Volkswagen Golf GTI. “One thing is for sure; I have stability on my side as this is my third season in the Golf,” Julian explains. “Importantly, we need to utilise that to hit the ground running this year to be in it from the outset. Let’s do this guys!”

It’s a big step for 2025 Investchem MSA4 single seater champion KC Ensor-Smith, who drives the third African Heating Investchem Volkswagen Golf GTI. “I cannot lie, but I’m pretty nervous for this step into the big time,” KC smiled. “But as big a step it is, it’s also a chance to prove myself at the top level of local racing. I can’t wait!”

Andrew Schofield is always happy to race at Killarney in his familiar FlySafair Chemical Logistics Fast Racing BMW 318ti. “Killarney is my home track,” the Safair 737 pilot who races on free weekends points out. “So it’s always a great weekend. I’m also entering my third season of South African Touring Cars, so with a little good luck, it will be a step forward, but I’m really looking forward to it!”

The team is yet to confirm its fifth driver for the second Chemical Logistics Fast Racing BMW 318ti. The South African Touring Car action will travel to seven rounds around the country, commencing at Killarney Saturday 14 March. If you happen to be in the Cape, be there!
