Ghazi looking forward to a busy end of season
2020 South African Rotax Mini Max karting champion Ghazi Motlekar continues his preparation for January’s Max Grand Finals in Portimao, Portugal with a full weekend of African Open and Northern Regions championship action on 14 and 15 November. Dainfern youngster Motlekar is in a handy Gauteng title chase lead and is already in the SA team, so he’s looking forward to a good scrap in the Open, which has a ticket to Portugal as its prize.
“The Formula K Raceway weekend should be great fun” Ghazi admitted. “Saturday is a regional race and I’m leading that championship, but we will have all our out of town rivals up to prepare for Sunday’s African Open. “So I’m looking forward to some good, close racing. “Sunday will really be cool — I have nothing to win or lose, but there is a whole lot of racing and seat time to practice for the mad action of the Grand Finals in January.
“We are also planning to do a race in Portimao before the Grand Finals in January, so there’s still plenty racing to come. “For now the focus is on doing the double, to clinch the Gauteng title on top of my SA championship and that starts Saturday and I can’t wait for any of it!"
