Summarize

Pretoria is set for a great day of Historic and Inland racing!

Some say that Easter time is the best time in Gauteng. When the naturally great Highveld weather is at its very best. Not too hot, not too cool. Just right. You could call it classic.

Which is pretty fitting, considering Zwartkops Raceway is gearing up for one of the coolest days on its calendar when the Historic and Inland Tour visits the Pretoria circuit for a cracking classic race meeting this Saturday 5 April.

Another splendid Historics-rich Zwartkops racing festival, Saturday will have something to thrill every race fan. From the thundering Mustangs and Galaxies to the ’57, Novas and Camaros of Marlboro Crane Hire Pre-'66 V8 Legends with the Little Giants and U2s snapping at their heels, to sleek, speedy Lolas, Chevrons and other 9 Hour Sportscar Legends.

They will have the Le Mans Sports & GT Porsches and Cobras, and Trans-Am musclecars hard on their heels. Add the ever-entertaining Evapco HRSA Sprint races and back-to-front Pursuit handicap Challenge, featuring classic Alfas, Escorts, Datsuns, Sciroccos and so much more. Historic car races abound, with even more in the MLN Cranes Midvaal Historics and Trofeo.

Don’t forget the Historic Single Seaters, where the Formula Fords and Vees that built a generation of SA’s finest drivers all those years ago, will fight it out once again. More contemporary, perhaps, but just as entertaining, the Monoposto races cater for more recent Formula Libre and SA Formula M single seaters.

Sitting in the middle, so to say, the INEX Legends and Lotus Challenge both deliver serious, quick racing entertainment. And Speaking of contemporary, Clubmans and National Sports Cars, and of course, a huge grid of Zwartkops’ ever-popular Silver Cup 2.0 Sports and Production Cars, both offering compelling grids to guarantee something completely different.

It’s more than just about racing at this Saturday 5 April’s Historic and Inland Championship. With kids’ entertainment, food and drink stalls, off-track entertainment and more, fans can pore over the classic cars and catch up with the teams and drivers in the pits too. There’s  something extra for everyone at Zwartkops!

Entry is R110 per adult, R90 for students, and kids under 12 are free. Contact 012 384 2299 or log on to www.zwartkops.co.za for more details.
