Napier’s national voyage of learning

Johannesburg karting lass Tiffany Napier is expecting nothing less than another tough weekend of racing at Killarney’s second round national championship Saturday 29 April.

“I know what I’m going to really be up against this weekend” the British International School grade 9 student admitted. “The top Cape Town competitors are highly experienced and I will be at a bit of a disadvantage on their home circuit and some of the Jo’burg guys are also very quick there.

“Still, I am determined to give it my best shot — we did some testing at Killarney in preparation a few weeks ago and I was quite happy with my pace on old tyres, although I still have a little time to find, but I enjoy the track and I’m confident to be on the pace come race day.

“Killarney is a very bumpy and physically demanding track with extreme g-forces, so I have done extra fitness training and I have come a long, long way from being thrown in the deep end when I raced at Killarney last year as a total greenhorn. “So I have to thank my folks, my BirelArt team and my sponsor Design Waterproofing Systems for all the effort they have put in and I really hope to reward them with a great result in Cape Town!”
